Knowledge & Understanding
Children should be taught to understand what their bodies can do and the impact of being active, as well as, health and fitness.
Ask children questions that will help them understand and work out what they are doing and what they are learning. This will also help them to understand what their bodies are doing. Give them time to reflect on activities and what they have achieved.
Children enjoy achieving what they set out to do.
It is important for children to be able to understand their own achievements.
Creating an enabling environment helps support all areas of learning.
The more adults develop their knowledge and understand what children need the more they can help them grow and be healthy.
